Information we collect
- Account information: email address and authentication information. Passwords are handled through our authentication infrastructure and are not visible to ReviseReady in plain text.
- Course preferences: selected language, exam board and tier.
- Learning information: practice selections, progress indicators, marks, AI feedback and submitted-answer history. Answer history is saved only within the student's Student Progress area.
- Speaking information: audio supplied for speaking feedback. Audio is sent for processing and is not retained by ReviseReady after the response is produced.
- Support information: messages, reports of errors, account requests and related correspondence.
- Technical information: sign-in session information, device/browser information and security data needed to run and protect the website. ReviseReady does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies.
- Payment information: our payment provider processes payment details. ReviseReady receives transaction, subscription and limited billing-status information rather than full card details.
Why we use information and our lawful bases
- Provide accounts and revision features — necessary to perform our contract with the user or account purchaser.
- Personalise course content — necessary to perform the contract, using language, board and tier choices.
- Generate AI feedback — necessary to provide the requested feature under the contract. Users choose when to submit an answer or recording.
- Security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting — our legitimate interests in protecting users and operating a secure service, balanced carefully because children may use ReviseReady.
- Support and error reports — performance of the contract and our legitimate interests in responding and improving the service.
- Accounting and legal records — compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in establishing or defending legal claims.
AI processing
Written answers are sent through the Lovable AI Gateway for processing using a Google Gemini model. Speaking recordings are sent for processing using an OpenAI GPT service. The purpose is to generate feedback requested by the user. ReviseReady does not use AI feedback to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Speaking audio is not stored by ReviseReady after processing. Please avoid including names, contact details, health information or other unnecessary personal details in practice answers or recordings.
Who receives information
- Lovable — website hosting, cloud infrastructure, authentication, storage, email delivery and the AI gateway.
- Google — where a Gemini model processes written-answer requests through the AI gateway.
- OpenAI — where its service processes speaking submissions.
- Stripe — subscription payments, automatic renewals, refunds, fraud prevention and billing administration.
- Professional advisers, regulators, courts or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.
These organisations may act as processors, independent controllers or sub-processors depending on the service and contract. ReviseReady does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party advertising.
International transfers
The core cloud project is hosted in Europe. Some providers or their support systems may nevertheless process information outside the UK. Where UK personal information is transferred internationally, ReviseReady requires an approved transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, as applicable.
How long we keep information
- Student Progress information, including saved answer history, marks and feedback: stored only within the student's Student Progress area and deleted when the account is deleted, subject to any limited legal or security record we are required to retain.
- Other active account information and course preferences: until the account is deleted, subject to legal or security exceptions.
- Inactive accounts: after 12 months of inactivity we send a warning to the registered email address. If the account is not used again, it is deleted 30 days after that warning.
- Speaking audio: not retained by ReviseReady after processing.
- Closed support reports and support emails: up to 12 months after account deletion, unless a longer period is needed for a legal obligation or dispute.
- Payment and accounting records: for the period required by tax, accounting and legal obligations.
- Cookies and browser storage: according to the durations shown in the register on the Cookie Policy.
Children's privacy
ReviseReady is designed for GCSE revision and is likely to be used by children. We aim to collect only information needed to provide the service, use privacy-protective defaults, explain processing clearly and avoid advertising or unnecessary profiling. We do not currently request a date of birth. Users can ask a parent, guardian or trusted adult to help them understand this notice or exercise their rights.
